Electrical Expansion

This project required expanding campus electrical infrastructure to supply power for four large portable educational buildings at Dallas College Richland Campus.

McGee Electrical Services intercepted the existing campus 13.2kV medium-voltage loop and extended distribution to a newly constructed concrete equipment pad. To safely downstep and distribute power across the site, our team installed a complete 2,000A 480V service along with custom switchgear assemblies for each building.

Job Features

  • Intercepted and extended existing campus 13.2kV medium-voltage underground loop.
  • Installed new 2,000A, 480V service equipment pad.
  • Configured individual power setups for 4 portable buildings, each equipped with:
    • 500A 480V Disconnect
    • 225kVA Step-Down Transformer
    • 800A Main Circuit Breaker (MCB) 120/208V Panelboard
  • Executed underground trenching, conduit runs, and feeder installations across campus grounds.
